Your Body is a Machine

Every cell in your body is part of an intricate machine that was designed for health and well-being. The enemy of that machine is chronic inflammation — the silent saboteur that is bent on breaking you down from within.

But there’s good news.

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with a condition or experiencing strange, unexplained symptoms…

Whether you’re an athlete fighting through pain…

Or you’re in the prime of your life, and you wish you didn’t “have to” suffer a health decline as you age…

You don’t have to simply surrender.

Your body is designed to triumph. And you can counter the enemy that wants to hold you back by giving your body what it needs.

I’ll show you how to nurture your body, guide it back to vitality, and use your innate healing capacity to defeat the enemy.
Together, we’ll celebrate your body—the most powerful machine you’ll ever own—as you move step-by-step toward freeing yourself from the grip of chronic inflammation.

My Whole-Person Approach to Health

I don’t diagnose, prescribe or treat. Instead, my role is to understand you as a whole person — and to help you discover how the food you eat and your lifestyle affects your total physiology.
Together, we’ll use strategies and tools to uncover exactly what happens inside your body when you eat a certain diet or a specific type of food. We’ll investigate where your signs, symptoms or diagnosis manifested. And we’ll connect the dots between your current lifestyle behaviors and your condition.
Through it all, I’ll empower you with education and insight, and the strategies you need to take back your health by using food and behaviors as medicine.

My 3 Lenses

TRADITIONAL MEDICINE

My background in traditional medicine gives me a strong foundation in understanding disease, treatment, and care. This forms the bedrock of the integrated, holistic approach I use in my practice today.

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE

Functional medicine approaches help me dig deeper into the root causes of illness and appreciate the interconnectedness of the body’s 11 systems. Together, we’ll use it to help you take control of your health.

SURVIVOR’S EMPATHY

My journey through breast cancer was a blessing, giving me a unique empathetic perspective. Cancer taught me how to guide you through your health challenges with authenticity and compassion.

My Cancer Journey

My life story has two chapters: one that takes place before I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and one after.
Jacqui Bryan Video Fallback Image
In 2003, I found a fibroid in my breast and received the news that no one wants to hear. An aggressive cancer called Invasive Ductal Carcinoma had started in my milk ducts and spread to my lymph nodes. Just two weeks later, I had a double mastectomy and began several months of brutal chemo, radiation, and shots to increase my white blood cell count. I was so sick to my stomach from my treatments that the doctors weren’t sure I could continue.
I was lucky enough to beat cancer—but in the process I also had my ovaries removed and took years of hormone-blocking drugs that challenged me emotionally and physically.
Throughout my whole experience, two questions nagged at me.
The first was common. “Why me?” I had no family history of cancer. I rarely drank. I was lean and athletic. The cancer and its effects were shocking, to say the least.
But the second led me to where I am today, and for that I’m eternally grateful. That question was, “What next?” I had years of medical training under my belt—yet nothing had kept me from getting sick.

And nothing had prepared me for just how much our traditional medicine system is focused on treatment, not prevention. I started to explore functional medicine, convinced that if I could combine what I knew about traditional medicine with a holistic, whole-body approach, I could make an incredible difference in people’s lives.

I’ve learned so much along the way—about chronic inflammation and its effects, and how to help people prevent it to manage or reverse serious health conditions. My 20-year journey—the chapter after cancer—has led me to this moment today…

And by some beautiful twist of fate, it has also led you to me. I invite you to explore my website. To learn how integrating traditional medicine and functional medicine offers a better, more preventative approach to health. And I hope I can join you on your journey toward renewed vitality and well-being.

Together, we can write your new chapter.
